I just wanted to let everyone know that the Mega TF sniper server is still up and running. If you didn't know, the server is Quake 1, QuakeWorld - Mega Team Fortress...set specifically with sniper maps. I used to play on the only sniper server that existed over a decade ago, and still love to get a game in when people randomly join. If you want to try it out, and need help...let me know and we can work through it.

Yes you definitely do, it's quite the throwback classic. Maps you won't find any place else in the world..  Grin

I mean, it is the original OG playa when it comes to TF. The intro itself to the mod is extremely classic. Find that iso and install it!

Hi all,

Browsing my way around the 'net looking for info on MegaTF and found this forum... and I'm so glad.. Smiley  It's great to finally find some PPL who are still playing this great game/mod. My friends and I used to play this at our LAN/BBQ weekends years ago, and it was without a doubt the most fun of all the games we played.

About a year ago, I desperately tried to get things installed and working on my WinXP system, but I can't figure it out. I've still got a lot of my old Quake stuff lying around on CDs somewhere, but getting it all to work the way it should is a different matter.

Are there any modern guides for getting this old chestnut to work ? If not, I would really appreciate some help.. I'd love to be able to play this again.. one of the best multiplayer games/mods of all time, IMO...  Smiley

I know this is an old thread, but I'll check back regularly to see if there's anyone around. If I get a response, I'll post some further details about the files I have, and hopefully I can figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Regards,

Hey there....glad to see there's another person interested in getting some old school Quake going. As far as installation goes, I could have sworn I just installed and played...almost with no problems. However, I'll look into it again once I'm out of work to see if there's anything special that I did to get it to work right. From what I remember, most Vista users ended up having problems, not sure if XP users experience the same thing.

Other then that, I'm ready to get some Quake goin! Sniper wars is my favvvvvv.  Grin

I need some help with this one.

First I could only find 1 installer on the net.
http://www.fileplanet.com/62193/download/The-MegaTF-Installer-1.0
So im guessing this is the only version

Under multiplayer i get "No server list found"
what am i supposed to do?

I figured it out

First install megaTF
http://www.fileplanet.com/62193/download/The-MegaTF-Installer-1.0
second install EzQuake into your MegaTF folder
http://ezquake.sourceforge.net/
Third install Qtracker
http://www.qtracker.com/
Once you have done all that open Qtracker
Under Games select Quakeworld and sort by "Mod"

Qtracker is going to ask you where your quake exe is so just browse to C:\Program Files\MegaTF and make sure you use ezquake-gl.exe

Hopefully Educator will post a bunch of useful MegaTF commands becuse the game needs some minor tweaking

Man that sounded pretty rough when I read it. I will post some commands real soon. We need to get a few people in there for it to be fun. Ive played 8 on 8 before...that was just amazing.
